There’s something extra special about photographing a couple in the exact spot they got engaged—and David and Cassie’s Whitetail Woods engagement session was just that. We met up in Farmington, Minnesota, on the most beautiful evening, and the park gave us a sunset straight out of a dream.
These two are high school sweethearts (yes, cue all the heart eyes 🥹). Their connection is so natural, relaxed, and real—you can tell they’ve been each other’s person for a long time. Whether they’re spending a cozy night in playing Fortnite/ overcooked or just relaxing together, being side by side is their favorite place to be.
Whitetail Woods Regional Park is such a gem for engagement photos, especially when there’s a glow like this one. Open fields, golden grasses, and that soft light peeking through the trees—it’s no wonder they chose this place to get engaged. I love when couples choose locations that mean something to them. It adds this sweet layer of emotion and intention to the photos that you can’t fake.
David and Cassie were up for anything—walking barefoot through the grass, spinning in the golden hour light, and just being fully present with each other. I kept saying, “YYYAAAAASSSSS.” I’m already counting down the days until their late summer wedding.
