Engagement Session in Morris with Camryn & Monte!!

Camryn and Monte are high school sweet hearts. They knew it was possible to meet your person that young because both sets of their parents were also high-school sweet hearts. It all started in English class, they officially started dating their sophomore year in high school. It was affection that came on naturally with time spent together and enjoying each and grew into something more. They are excited to live their lives together as husband and wife!
Our engagement session had to be moved indoors due to rain but it turned out to work because we will got plenty of cuddling in! Hugh thank you to Inherent for letting us use your space!

We are all collectively excited for their wedding this fall!! Please enjoy a small preview of their engagement session!

Katie & Sean are Married!

What a beautiful day! Katie and Sean prayed for good weather for their wedding day this April and the Lord answered in kind. With lots of sun and temperatures in the seventies, they enjoyed their time outdoors for photos!

The girls got ready at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest in the morning listening to Taylor Swift playlist to help get everyone in the wedding day mood! Katie and Sean’s details were so much fun with Kate Spade Wedding cork shoes, lots of colors in her flowers, and Katie’s Lucky Willow tree on the invites. Katie’s bouquet was made of all the flowers collectively of her bridesmaids bouquets! What a beautiful jester.

Katie and Sean decided to wait to see each other until going down the aisle! They said their I do’s at Mount Calvary Church in Excelsior with a church filled with their loved ones! After the ceremony, Katie and Sean both seemed so much more relaxed, finally being able to spend the day together!! Sean’s favorite part of the day was seeing Katie in her lovely dress!

There were important people who were greatly missed for this beautiful day and who were mentioned often in the dinner speeches, Katie’s dad and Sean’s mom. Little things throughout the day were added to make sure they could feel them in more than just spirit. Katie added a surprise charm on Sean’s boutonniere of his mom and Katie herself had charm photos on her bouquet. She also wore a bracelet containing a sapphire from her dad’s gift to her mom on their wedding day.

The reception details were a labor of love and excellently done by the bride and her support team. One of my favorite details back at Marriot Hotel was the seating chart for the guests. Katie made a Mail box wall with personalized letters for each and every guest! AMAZING! The BEST part of the day was seeing this amazing couple go around and serve each table with their dessert. It was important for them to show their appreciation for all their guests and serving them was such a beautiful way to show it.

The rest of the night was filled with laughter and dancing! It was such a wonderful day and I am so thankful to have been a small part of it.

Please enjoy this preview of Katie and Sean’s Wedding Day!

Men's Boutonnieres Tip | Bridal Advice | Minneapolis Wedding Photographer

Roses are not a man’s Best Friend

Roses are a classic look in the wedding world and I know a lot of couple’s gravitate towards them for the groom and groomsmen to wear on the wedding day.
I am here to tell you although they are a timeless choice, they are not the best. Here are a couple of things that make Roses hard to work with:

Roses are SO top heavy. You need at minimum two flower pins to secure them in place. I have had many weddings where I would have to go and turn the flower back straight. Lots of times you just end up with a flower that looks like it had a few too many before the ceremony and can’t stand on it’s own stem.

This flower is THICK. If the stem breaks there is no turning back. You will need to order backups from your florist just in case. I was pinning a rose on a groomsman at a wedding and it is a thick stem to poke through and the whole top of the flower broke off. There was nothing I could do so we had an usher go without a flower because they didn’t order a backup. Another common issue with this boutonniere type is it bends the pins if not done exactly right. After your florists to leave extra pins behind as backup.

Here is an alternative suggestion if you RRREEAALLLY love that rose look. I would suggest doing a mini rose flower. They have the same look but are much smaller and lighter. I believe they can be the the solution to making your man’s wedding day a little better improved! So he will only be thinking back on the good things and not battling his flower all day.
