Can My Wedding Venue Force Me To Share My Photos Of My Wedding? | Bridal Advice | For the MW Brides

Many wedding venues will have you as the bride and groom sign their standard contract. This is an industry standard but it is when it comes to trying to take claim over your photo rights when things get a little weird.

Another industry standard is that your photos remain property of your photographer unless you have specifically gotten the copyrights of the photos. Not owning the copy rights to the photos, it is not something you can legally sign away to anyone else.

If something like this ever comes up with your wedding venue, be sure to have them directly contact your wedding photographer for further discussion.

I am by no means an expect on copyright laws but I do know you need to read your contracts thoroughly before signing anything!

Machine Shop Wedding Photography | Brooke & Evan | Minneapolis Wedding Photographer

This wedding I was able to shoot under Gina Zeilder Photography. Brooke and Evan where complete gems. They both were brimming with excitement and just pure joy the entire day. Both decided to get ready only a couple of miles from their home in Downtown Minneapolis as the Hewing Hotel. The girls started their day off with mimosas in a private room of Brian Graham Salon. I mean is there another way to start your wedding day?!The girls wore a lite mint green dress while Brooke wedding dress was a stunning lace dress which she paid with Badgley Mischka champagne colored heels. After Brooke got into her dress all the girls held hands as they were led into the room with their eyes closed until the big reveal. Everyone was just shook in the best way of how gorgeous Brooke looked on her wedding day!!

Next person to see her was her dad. They had a Father- Daughter first look in the downstairs room of the Hewing Hotel. It was so precious to see how excited her parents were to get to be a part of this day they had all been waiting for! After snapping a couple more photos we ascended to the Hewing Rooftop Bar by the pool for the first look. Watching Evan just soak her in was seriously adorable. Her gift to him was a Starry Night Print of one of their special days together. Evan loved the gift. We all partied it good up with the Minneapolis skyline as a gorgeous backdrop before heading out for full wedding party photos.

A short trip to Boom Island and back we all headed for the wedding Ceremony at the Machine Shop in Downtown Minneapolis. The Florals at the Machine Shop were AMAZING! They had a flower ring surrounding the main chandelier that just gave the ceremony such a whimsical vibe. The priest made everyone laugh throughout the service and gave his blessing to Brooke and Evan.

The were husband and wife before you know it; Both bride and groom just had giant smiles on their faces.

The reception was just beautifully decorated with candles, flowers, and greenery. One of my favorite parts of the day came during the first dance. While Brooke and Evan where twirling their way through the dance floor, Evan waved over his new father-in-law and left his baffled bride. He ran up to the stage and sang a couple of lines to their first song! Brooke was SO surprised and I loved this little surprise of the night!

The evening continued with lots of dancing!

Please enjoy this Machine Shop Wedding of Brooke and Evan!!

Minnesota Arboretum Adventure | Arboretum Photography | Personal

One of my goals for this year is to go somewhere new or go somewhere just because I want to at least once a month.

I was sad that I lived in such a beautiful state and haven't taken the time to really explore and enjoy it which is so silly since i have lived here my whole life. So I am making that change.

Marcus decided to join me and we made our way to Minnesota Arboretum. When we got in we found parking right away but from there were a little lost. We circled around the entrance twice before hoping back into the car and driving the 3 mile drive because we really didn't know where else to go! We were pleasantly surprised that this was the trail we were supposed to go on in the first place! We stopped at all the spots that looked interesting. They had sculpture gardens, Hedge Maze, Flower Gardens. Our favorite was the Hedge Maze. We took time to go through and we both agreed that this course would be a blast at night with a version of Tag for adults.

All in all it was a fun time to get out of the house and go see something new! I have to say that I understand they put a lot of time and effort into this Arboretum and it really shows, buuuutttt for $15 per adult I don't think I will be back. I am a sucker for any place free so I will have to enjoy the Minneapolis Sculpture Gardens and Como Conservatory instead!
