Tips for Choosing the Right Wedding Photographer | Minneapolis Wedding Photographer

Choosing the Wedding Photographer that is a Right Fit for You!

Choosing the right wedding photographer is one of the most important decisions you will make when planning your big day. Your wedding photographs will be the lasting memories of your special day, so it's important to choose a photographer who will capture all the love, joy, and emotion in the most beautiful and meaningful way possible.

Here are some tips to help you choose the right wedding photographer for you:

  1. Determine your style: What type of photographs do you want to capture on your wedding day? Do you prefer a more traditional, posed look or a more candid, photojournalistic approach? Consider your personal style and preferences when choosing a photographer.

  2. Check their portfolio: A photographer's portfolio will give you a good idea of their style, creativity, and the type of photographs they are capable of capturing. Look for a portfolio that showcases a variety of images that you love, and that tells the story of each wedding in a unique and meaningful way.

  3. Consider their experience: Make sure your photographer has experience capturing weddings similar to your own. Consider their level of experience, the number of weddings they have shot, and the type of weddings they specialize in.

  4. Ask for references: Don't hesitate to ask the photographer for references from past clients. This will give you a good idea of their level of professionalism and the type of experience their clients have had.

  5. Communicate your needs: Be clear about what you want and expect from your photographer. Communicate your vision for your special day, and make sure your photographer is on the same page.

  6. Ask about their editing process: A good photographer will have a professional editing process in place to ensure that your photographs are the best they can be. Make sure you understand how your photographs will be edited and what type of final product you can expect.

  7. Consider their personality: Your wedding photographer will be with you for most of your wedding day, so it's important to choose someone who you feel comfortable around and who has a personality that matches your own.

By following these tips, you can find the right wedding photographer for you and ensure that your special day is captured in the most beautiful and meaningful way possible.

Quincy Hall Wedding Photography | Anna & Alex | Minneapolis Wedding Photographer

Anna & Alex Got Married at Epiphany Church in Coon Rapids & Celebrated at Quincy Hall in Minneapolis!

Anna and Alex are officially married! They threw a big celebration to document their marriage this past Saturday!
In the morning the girls got ready at Anna’s childhood home, before making our way to Church of Epiphany to see Alex for their first look. Her sisters and Mama Cindy helped get her perfect before seeing her groom.

Alex waited in the gardens in the back of the church and seeing each other was magic. Anna’s dress was something that checked all her boxes. She wanted something with sleeves, and open back and lace. It was a little more boho than she thought she would fall for but she loved it all just the same! Her bouquet (done by Apricot Florals) had beautiful floral that also included raspberry flowers and even had some raspberries growing in it! All genuine smiles all day, Anna & Alex were just soaking up the happiness and excitement. I was loving it all day!
The Ceremony was a classic Catholic Ceremony where they asked for God’s blessing on their marriage and their future. Their ceremony treated their union as the sacred act that marriage is.
After their I do’s and becoming officially husband and wife, the wedding party hopped on the Gray Lines Trolley and headed over to an additional photo spot near their reception venue to snap a couple of extra photos.

After making our way to Quincy Hall to party the rest of the night away, we got to see the amazing work that Apricot Florals and Fab Designs put in to make their reception stunning! With Covid restrictions lifted, these two were really able to have the reception they wanted and celebrate the way they wanted.

The night continued with speeches (some times a little embarrassing & others all love), dinner, and dancing! Now when you have been cooped up for a year and a half, it makes for a FIRE of a dance floor. It was hopping in the best way. Before dancing we went out for some last rays of golden sun for portraits!
The whole day was positively beautiful, but what shined the most was the gentle kindness of Anna & Alex. Their joyful spirits really made the day what it was - Amazing. I am SO thankful to have been a part of capturing their day and I really hope you enjoy their photos as much as I do.

When To Book Your Engagement Session | For MW Brides | Minneapolis Wedding Photographer

When is the right time to book your engagament photography session? I have got you, girl.

Plan for your favorite season! Up here in Minnesota we have all four seasons! My favorite season is winter. The snow is makes the world magical. Plan on shooting the season you want to be a part of within the year of your wedding.

Many use engagememt photos for their save the dates! To make sure you have plenty of time to shoot the session and your photographer has time to edit to perfection and deliver and then add in the time to order and be delivered. I would suggest to have your engagement session shot 2 months before you plan on sending out your save the dates. That will give you time for all the mentioned process above to take place!

From a photographers standpoint you want to avoid shooting your session too late in advance. I would suggest having your photos done not later than 2 months before your wedding. This will give you plenty of time to have your photographer shoot and edit and send back your photos.
