Amber & Nick get married at Peace Lutheran Church in New London!

Burning of the day at a balmy 90 degrees in Minnesota Amber got ready at her childhood home with her mama and sister.

Tippy the cat was brave enough to join us and for some odd reason kept going after the bottom of her dress so Amber's mom was standing guard. After putting on her dress we headed to the first look just a couple miles from the church. Nick got to see his bride for the first time. The first look was all smiles and hugs. We then headed to the church for portraits with the wedding party outside in the shade of one of the church's trees.
One of Amber's favorite parts of the day was the ceremony. They had their pastor start their day with the traditional vows from one of the great classics. "MAWAGE! MAWAGE IS WAT BWINGS US TOWGETHER TOWDAY". Amber and Nick absolutely loved it as they cracked up through the whole intro to their ceremony. After the Princess Bride quotes were over, the Officiant wanted the audience to know that was specially requested by the bride and groom.
It is a beautiful thing when God brings two people together in marriage. It was a privilege to witness these two say "yesh" and become husband and wife!

After the ceremony everyone headed over to Oneils for the reception! A cute space, Amber and Nick decorated with greenery and tiered candles. They served their guests O'Neals' pizza (which was delicious).
During Toasts, both the Best Man & Maid of Honor expressed how their friend had found the perfect partner. It ended with Amber saying a heartfelt thank you and laying a big kiss on her new husband. He didn't seem to mind. (Nick would later say this was one of his favorite moments of the day).
Their first dance felt so intimate as they swayed together surrounded by their friends and family.
We ended the night with some intimate portraits at Pirrotta Park right behind the venue.
Please enjoy Amber & Nick's wedding day.

A Minnesota celebration with Chase & Danae at Prestwick Golf Course!

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Spring has sprung here in Minnesota and the trees are starting to be covered in green once more! This day was initially planned to take place last October, after this bride and groom’s Mexico ceremony with Danae’s side of the family. Like many others, due to covid, everything had a little shake up. Their Minnesota Reception ended up coming first in the new plans of events!
Chase’s mom Anita planned this so all Chase’s family and friends could enjoy celebrating their marriage at Prestwick Golf Course in Woodbury, MN. Chase & Danae had a brief ceremony so both sets of parents could enjoy this time together. Everyone on the day of was just happy to be together celebrating these two. It made the day much more fun to be a part of when everyone is ready to party!
Danae looked dynamite in her wedding dress she chose for the MN Celebration. And Chase looked amazingly dapper in his three piece brown suit. They complimented each other well in spirit and joy for their day.
One of my favorite moments of the day came during the toasts. Chase’s dad was his best man; Jeff’s speech was funny and well thought out. He said one line in English and the same line repeated in Spanish for Danae’s side of the family to be able to fully enjoy the speech. In the middle of his speech the whole room agreed - “Covid Sucks.”
They finished the night greeting friends and family and partying it up on the dance floor.
Please enjoy some of their wedding photos from their Minnesota Celebration!

Where To Start Rescheduling Your Wedding Due to Corona Virus | Minneapolis Wedding Photography | MW Photography

Making the hard choices

To brides struggling with the decision of postponing your dream wedding due to Corona Virus,

First off I want to say I am so sorry you have to go through this. You have planned months and maybe even years for this day. Your desire to make it perfect drove every decision from the white dress to every place setting. This sucks and there is no way around it. Just know your wedding community is feeling it too; your vendors want to help as much as they can.

If you are the bride who has decided to postpone your wedding day due to the Covid-19, these are a couple of the beginning steps to help regarding your vendors.

1st reach out to your venue.  Ask your venue what days they have open to reschedule. In all honesty, you may need to be open to booking a week day. A lot of brides book from August to Oct; open weekends at your venue might be low due to the popularity of your venue. A small bright side to this is many venues offer weekday discounts! Normally changing your date would have financial charges, but this is not a normal circumstance! Ask your venue if you can transfer your deposit to a new day with no additional charge. Be courageous; ask ALL the questions.

When you have the new date established, it is time to see if your other vendors are available. Prioritize this by your vendors you know you can't do your day without. Prepare your heart that they might not all be available. If that is the case, ask them for recommendations for who could take their place in your wedding day. Don’t attack that business for not having your new day available . Trust me when I say your wedding vendors are doing the best they can to make you happy.

Most of your vendors will have a non refundable deposit clause in their contract, due to the extreme nature of the change, I do not think you would be out of place asking for a full refund. Prepare to be rejected by this request but you will not know if you do not ask. Be as kind as possible. Everyone is feeling the strain on this and from an insiders opinion people are willing to work with you more when you approach this type of situation with kindness and grace.

To the brides who are heart broken because your day has special meaning- my honest suggestion is to elope in your state. I know how special a day can be. Save your new date for celebration of your marriage when it is safe for everyone to be there. Contact your photographer, officiant, and Florist immediately for this request. It will be a very intimate wedding day experience that will allow you to keep your special day. Make sure your current vendors would still be open to doing this with you. Most will, some won’t as they are trying to protect their families from the virus. Again, I say be kind and ask for any recommendations they may have if you decided to go this route.

Check your locate government website to see what is open and what is allowed during this uncertain time.
